Political Parties of Finland for Democracy, Demo Finland
Demo launched a youth programme in Nepal after a local request in 2007. The purpose of the programme is to strengthen political participation of youth in Nepal and to enhance constructive dialogue between youth from various political parties as well as to enable mutual learning between Finnish and Nepalese political youth organisations through sharing of experiences.

UN's development program UNDP organised a three day training for the leaders of the Joint Youth and Student's platform in co-operation with Demo Finland. The training, that took place in mid-December, aimed at developing leadership skills, that value co-operation, fair and equal governance, discussion and justice as tools for good management.
A delegate of Finnish youth and student politicians, representing all parliamentary parties, visited Nepal in September. The main purpose of the visit was to offer these youth personal experience about development and democracy co-operation, and serve as a platform for intercultural political discussion. The youth had chosen political youth activism on the local level as a special theme for this visit. In addition to lively discussion on this theme, the delegates and the locals debated on large scale shared global issues concerning especially the youth.
Over 150 youth of different political views gathered to Rajbiraj in Southeastern Nepal on Aug. 12th to take part in discussions and festivities of the International Day of Youth. The festivities were organised by the Joint Youth and Student's Platform. In addition to political speeches and discussion, a traditional match of Nepalese wrestling was staged.
As in everyday life, also in politics the role of Nepalese women is by no means equal to men's. To support women's political activity, The Joint Youth and Students' Platform organised a five day workshop in Chitwan, Southern Nepal. The workshop focused on women leadership and leadership skills.
