Launching of Demo at the World Village Festival, May 27, 2006

Demo introduced itself officially to the public for the first time at the World Village Festival on May 27, 2006. Among the presenters on the stage were Demo’s Chairperson Mirja Ryynänen, Vice Member of the Board Pekka Ristelä, Executive Director Sari Varpama, and a Tanzanian delegation representing all five parliamentary parties of Tanzania. The African guests shared their views on the democratic situation in Tanzania and told about co-operation between Demo and the Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD), a cross-party platform working for pluralistic democracy in its home country.
